Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to the information you send us through this website, and what your rights are over it.
Last updated 30 July 2026.
Who we are
Riverside Nursery is a day nursery at Riverside Industrial Estate, Branch Road, Lower Darwen, BB3 0PR. We are registered with Ofsted under number EY357087.
For the information collected through this website, Riverside Nursery is the data controller. That means we are responsible for deciding how it is used and for keeping it safe.
What this policy covers
This policy covers this website only. The records we keep about children at the nursery and their families, including registration forms, learning journeys and safeguarding records, are handled separately and are not collected through this site. Please contact the nursery if you would like the privacy notice that covers those records.
What we collect
The only information this website asks you for is what you type into the enquiry form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your message, which is optional
There is no account to create and no other form on the site. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, so we do not build a profile of how you use the site or where you came from.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use the details you give us for one purpose: to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask, to arrange a visit to the nursery.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. You have contacted us asking to hear back, and replying to you is the reason the form exists. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not use your details for marketing.
What happens to your enquiry
When you submit the form, your details are sent straight to the nursery as an email. They are not saved to a database on this website, so this site holds no record of your enquiry once the email has been sent.
We use Resend to deliver that email. Resend acts as a processor on our behalf, which means they handle the message only to deliver it and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. You can read the Resend privacy policy if you would like the detail.
After that, your enquiry lives in the nursery's mailbox like any other email we receive. We keep it for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any follow up, then delete it.
Cookies
This site sets two cookies, both of which are strictly necessary for it to work. Neither is used to track you, and there is nothing to opt into:
- riverside-nursery-session
- Keeps your browsing session together so the enquiry form works correctly across page loads.
- XSRF-TOKEN
- A security token that proves an enquiry was submitted from our own form and not forged by another site.
We set no analytics, advertising or social media cookies. The fonts used on this site are served from our own server rather than a font provider, so simply viewing a page does not tell any third party that you were here.
Content from other companies
The Visit Us section of our home page includes a Google Map so you can find us. When that map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. That is Google's processing rather than ours, and it is governed by the Google privacy policy. If you would rather not load it, our address is written out in full next to the map and in the footer of every page.
Our Ofsted report and the government childcare eligibility checker are links out to those organisations' own websites. Once you follow a link, their privacy policies apply rather than ours.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you and get a copy of it
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need
- Ask us to restrict how we use it
- Object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests
- Ask us to transfer it to you or someone else in a portable format
To do any of these, email info@riversidenursery.info or write to us at the address above. We will respond within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children
This website is written for parents and carers, not for children, and the enquiry form is not intended to be used by them. We do not knowingly collect information about children through this site. If you tell us about your child in the message box, we treat that as part of your enquiry and handle it in the same way.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles your information, we will update this page and the date shown at the top. This policy was last updated on 30 July 2026.
