Riverside has been caring for children in Darwen since 2007. The nursery runs on a team that stays, knows the children well, and genuinely enjoys the work.

What we look for
Every role here is different, but these things matter whatever the position.
A relevant qualification
Our team hold early years qualifications from Level 3 through to Level 6. We also welcome apprentices and students on placement who are working towards their first qualification.
A commitment to safeguarding
Every appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, references and our safer recruitment process. Safeguarding training is completed by all staff and refreshed regularly.
Genuine warmth
The qualification matters, but so does the person. We look for people who are patient, playful and reliable, and who understand how much parents are trusting us with.
A willingness to keep learning
Paediatric first aid, food hygiene and ongoing professional development are part of the job here. We support the training and expect people to make use of it.
